It’s interesting to see how different publishers are trying to encourage greater engagement from readers – particularly those who are experts in their fields.

Perhaps the simplest way is to give engineers with something to say about technology a platform to reach their peers, and this is exactly what OpenSystems Media is trying to do with their invitation to guest bloggers. They’ve asked:

At embedded-computing.com – the largest embedded technology content publisher – we’re looking to feature bloggers on our site to cover a range of embedded computing topics including automotive, Internet of Things (IoT), M2M, medical technology, processing technology, software development, open source development, and more.

DSP-FPGA.com is looking for bloggers to talk DSP, FPGA, and EDA trends, developments, and applications. Blogs can be as short as a few paragraphs, or longer columns; have fun with your topic, but no sales pitches will be accepted as readers are turned off by promotional-oriented blogs.

It’s notoriously difficult to get most engineers to spend time writing, but I’m sure an approach like this, which allows engineers to access a large audience with minimal commitment, is a great way to encourage more interaction in our community.
